Key Worker homes funds still available

GOOD news for NHS staff is that, unlike some parts of the country, there is still funding available for Key Worker Living schemes in Sussex.

A recent RCN stated that in some areas funds had already been committed.

However, Moat Housing Group told the Bulletin:. "Moat still has significant homebuy funding available for NHS staff in Sussex.

"Assistance is targeted at frontline clinical staff working in the NHS and eligibility will be confirmed on application."

In addition, the Key Worker Living programme includes two other products, new homes for sale and rental properties reserved especially for the NHS and other key workers.

At present, there are at least 10 of these schemes available in areas across Sussex. Full details can be found by searching on www.kwliving.co.uk.

Moat’s operations manager Steven Moseley added: "To date, Moat has assisted over 70 NHS health workers in Sussex to purchase homes through the Key Worker Living Homebuy scheme.

Funding is still available for at least a similar number to purchase on the open market before March 2006 when the scheme ends. We encourage anyone interested to apply now."

All interested applicants must apply through Moat Housing Group in the first instance.
