Ann moves to West Sussex

MUCH travelled Ann Merricks has left the trust to take up a new appointment as project director for West Sussex Health and Social Care trust.

Ann set up the new BSUH directorate of service improvement in February 2003. She had previously left her post as general manager for surgery with Brighton Health Care in April 2000 to take up the post of assistant director of performance management for Kent and East Sussex.

Later she had Surrey added to her brief, but that was only a step towards undertaking an even wider range of responsibilities.

When the regional office of the Directorate of Health and Social Care was established she became deputy head of performance for the whole of the south of England.

In that role her area covered from Margate in the East to Lands End in the west and as far north as Milton Keynes.

Ann has been on secondment to Surrey and Sussex Strategic Health Authority since last October and took up her new post on May 3rd.

Amanda Philpott is continuing as acting director of service improvement until further notice.
