Volunteers celebrate with presentations and poetry

Trust volunteers ended national volunteers week with their annual celebration. Many of the 520 volunteers helping in trust hospitals enjoyed lunch in the marquee in the grounds of Sussex House. After a poetry entertainment by One Lyrical Treat, trust chair Glyn Jones thanked them all for their invaluable efforts and presented long service certificates to a large number of individuals and voluntary organisations.

Peter Bailey receives a certificate on behalf of Coastway Radio who celebrated 20 years broadcasting to Brighton Hospitals and Cathy Barnett accepted the award on behalf of Mid Downs Hospital Radio’s 30 years broadcasting to the Princess Royal and Cuckfield hospitals.

Veronica Thomas has completed 28 years voluntary service.

A certificate and gifts for Maud Gill who has served on the Brighton Friends executive committee since 1983.

Jeanette Stedman with her certificate and presents for 27 years service.
