bugs in Intensive Care

from all over the South of England converged on the Audrey Emerton Centre in May
to learn more about the problem of managing infection in intensive care.
Entitled ‘Beating the Bugs,’ the critical care study day,
was run by the British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN).
Denise Hinge, BSUH nurse consultant in critical care, a BCCN
committee member, helped organise the successful event that was opened by
assistant nursing director Jane Butler.
The speakers included local intensivists Dr Martin Street and Dr
Steve Drage and a previous BSUH staff member, Deborah Dawson, now a nurse
consultant at St Georges Hospital.
